SPOKANE, Wash. — As summer temperatures rise, so do gas prices.
According to a survey done by GasBuddy, within the last week, Spokane gas prices have risen 10.4 cents per gallon on average.
This survey looked at 187 stations in Spokane noting that gas prices are averaging $4.65 per gallon.
The average prices are higher than a month ago by 36.6 cents per gallon but are lower than a year ago by 62.1 cents per gallon.
Yesterday, the cheapest station in the area was $4.29 per gallon while the most expensive station is $4.89, making a difference of 60 cents per gallon.
Around Washington state, the difference of cheapest to most expensive was $1.64 per gallon. The lowest price being at $3.89 per gallon while the highest reaches almost $6 at $5.53.
The average price around the evergreen state is up 11.2 cents since last week’s average of $4.64 per gallon, sitting at $4.75 this week.
In Idaho, the average price is $3.95 per gallon.
The national average has also been on a rise in the past week, rising 5.6 cents and today, averaging $3.57 per gallon.
As prices gradually increase throughout the spring season, the whole nation will see an increase in prices until they peak in the late summer.
