SPOKANE, Wash. — As we enter the spring season, drivers may see their gas prices on the rise. According to a survey done by GasBuddy, within the last week, Spokane gas prices have risen 14.1 cents per gallon on average.
This survey looked at 187 stations in Spokane noting that gas prices are averaging $4.01 per gallon.
The average prices are higher than a month ago by 40.3 cents per gallon and higher than a year ago by 0.31 cents per gallon.
On Sunday, Mar. 24 the cheapest station in the Spokane area was $3.78 per gallon while the most expensive station is $4.29, making a difference of 0.51 cents per gallon.
Around the Evergreen state, the difference of cheapest to most expensive was $1.80 per gallon. The lowest price being at $3.59 per gallon while the highest reaches $5.39.
Back in January, Idaho gas prices dropped below the national average. But, according to AAA, that could change.
According to the latest numbers released by AAA, on Friday, Mar. 22, the average price per gallon was $3.51 while the national average also sits at $3.51.
This rise in prices is not surprising. According to GasBuddy, gas prices will "likely continue, as the entire nation has now made the first step toward summer gasoline."
