SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A crash involving a Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) fire truck is now clear after blocking the right and center lanes on I-90 near Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), the crash happened at about 3 p.m. on Saturday.

SVFD said the car lost control because of icy road conditions and hit the truck.

SVFD pulled the driver out of the car. Officials say they had minor injuries and has been taken to a hospital for treatment.

SVFD said the fire truck was already responding to an injury crash in that section of I-90 when another vehicle hit it.

Drivers should expect delays in the area, said WSDOT. There is no estimated time for reopening.

SVFD is encouraging people to stay safe on the roads after freezing rain left them covered in ice.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is made available.
