UNIONTOWN, Wash — US-195 between milepost 0 and 5 reopened in both directions early Friday morning after a fatal cras involving a semi truck and another vehicle on Thursday led to the closure in Whitman County, according to WSP
The crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday about two miles south of Uniontown. According to Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Sevigney, the semi truck was also leaking nitrogen refrigerant. The road was closed on Thursday for a chemical clean up and an investigation of the incident.
According to WSP, there were a total of four vehicles involved in the incident. Two cars were headed north and the other two were headed south.
One car drifted into the southbound lane and sideswiped a car. The car that was hit kept driving and hit both of the cars that were driving north. One driver who was hit, 58-year-old John Anthony, died at the scene.
All drivers were wearing seat belts, according to WSP.
