Crews working to repair dip in the road on I-90 near Kellogg

The dip in the road forced a speed-limit reduction from 75 mph to 45 mph.

KELLOGG, Idaho — Idaho Transportation Department crews are working to repair a dip in the road on I-90 near Kellogg.

The crews will add layers of asphalt in the east and westbound lanes of the freeway to repair the dip that appeared last week. It forced a speed-limit reduction from 75 mph to 45 mph.

Crews will work on one lane at a time and traffic will be shifted over to the other lane. ITD expects the temporary fix will be completed by 7 p.m. on Thursday.

ITD is coordinating with other agencies in the area to investigate the cause of the damage and to develop a long-term fix.

The speed limit will also be evaluated in order to increase it back to as near 75 mph as is safely possible.
