Multiple-car crash south of Spokane Valley leaves 4 injured

Washington State Patrol says the crash is blocking lanes on SR-27 near South Darknell Road. Drivers in the area should expect long delays.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A crash on State Route 27 and South Darknell Road, about five miles south of Spokane Valley, has left four people injured and is partially blocking the road. 

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) says multiple cars were involved in the crash. Spokane County Fire District 8 says two people had to be extricated from their vehicles and LifeFlight helicopters also responded to the scene. 

SCFD8 says three people are in critical condition and were transported to the hospital. One other person suffered only minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital. 

SCFD8 says drivers should expect long delays in the area of SR-27 near South Darknell Road while crews work in the area.
