SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) says that a car ran a red light on July 19 around 6 p.m. while fleeing police and crashed into another car, causing the driver and a passenger of the second vehicle to be severely injured.

SCSO says a Spokane Valley deputy was attempting to stop a Subaru without license plates driving east on Sprague near McDonald Avenue.

The car then accelerated through a red light, crashing into a Honda headed south on McDonald Avenue. The second car was pushed into a truck that was yielding to traffic as it prepared to turn left onto Sprague.

SCSO says the driver and one of the passengers of the Honda sustained injuries that may be life-threatening. Another passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries. SCSO says that all three were transported to the hospital.

The driver of the truck that was hit sustained only minor injuries.

The suspect, 29-year-old Boddy S. Million Jr., was detained and transported by deputies to the hospital. The two adult passengers in the suspect's car sustained minor injuries.

After he was evaluated and cleared by medical personnel, the suspect was booked into the Spokane County Jail and charged with five counts of Vehicular Assault and Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Vehicle.

SCSO says the deputy on the scene was not injured.

SCSO says that Traffic Unit Investigators responded to collect evidence, document the scene and conduct an ongoing investigation.

Washington State Patrol was also requested to assist.
