COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — A single car crashed into the concrete barrier on eastbound I-90 near Coeur d'Alene, leaving one dead and one injured.
The crash occurred near milepost 19 just east of Coeur d'Alene around 11 a.m.
Idaho State Police (ISP) says the car ran off the roadway onto the right shoulder and then overcorrected, crashing into the barrier between the eastbound and westbound lanes and flipping upside down.
Emergency responders found the driver dead at the scene. The single passenger was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
I-90 was blocked for roughly three hours, but all lanes are now reopened. Traffic was stalled between Fernan Lake Village and the Wolf Lodge.
ISP is currently investigating the crash.
