SPOKANE, Wash. — Drivers will need to give themselves extra time on Tuesday morning as slick roads are leading to crashes across the Spokane area.
The City of Spokane said it had crews stay late and others come in early to work on the roads. The city will focus on plowing arterials first along with hills. It will then work on roads around schools and hospitals before they plow any residential streets.
The City of Spokane is asking drivers to delay travel if they can this morning to give road crews more time to work. Kirstin Davis with the City of Spokane said the most challenging spots are on the South Hill and some on the north side of the city.
Spokane County reports its road crews are working on 12-hour shifts to plow, sand, and de-ice emergency routes and major arterials. The county warns its work may be slowed by another round of snow in the forecast.
