SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — If you travel east on I-90 in Spokane Valley, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) says you should plan on additional travel time in the area next week.

WSDOT said maintenance crews will be repaving the road near the Barker Road overpass, forcing traffic delays in the area.

WSDOT said work in the area will start at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20 and is expected to end at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21.

WSDOT will close the two left lanes of eastbound I-90 between the Sullivan and Barker Road interchanges for the repaving project. WSDOT said drivers will have to merge into the far right lane and exit eastbound I-90 taking a detour through the roundabout at Barker Road and use the next on-ramp to get back onto the highway.

WSDOT said flaggers will be at the Barker Road roundabout to help with traffic flow for drivers heading north and south on Barker Road.

WSDOT is asking drivers to move over and slow down in the work zones.
