SPOKANE, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) wants you to know about lane closures coming to I-90 in Spokane this weekend.

According to WSDOT, crews will be conducting traffic control, including overnight lane closures in both directions, of I-90 to survey the location of the future interchange for the North Spokane Corridor.

WSDOT said starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, crews will conduct mobile lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-90 between 282 and milepost 285 (approximately Hamilton Street to Appleway/Sprague Avenue interchanges). WSDOT said crews will close a single eastbound lane and will eventually reduce a second lane once traffic slows down.

After that, WSDOT said crews will turn around and survey westbound lanes. WSDOT said short term on and off ramps will be subject to closures during the work.

WSDOT also said no detour will be available for the ramp closures, and no more than one ramp will be closed simultaneously.

Here is when you can expect closures:

  • Sunday, Sept. 15, from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 16
  • Monday, Sept. 16 from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17
  • Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18

WSDOT is asking drivers to move over and slow down when approaching active work zones.
