SPOKANE, Wash. — Cheney-Spokane Road has officially reopened after it closed on and off starting Friday, October 11 through October 18 as crews finish paving the area.
The City of Spokane said Cheney-Spokane Road will be closed starting at the south end of the retail area at 4300 S. Cheney Spokane Rd. to Qualchan Road intermittently from Friday, October 11 - Thursday, October 17.
The City said businesses are open and accessible from the Cheney-Spokane Road interchange.
The City said the section of Cheney Spokane Road between Highway 195 and South Cedar Road is scheduled to fully reopen on Friday, October 18.

- Friday, October 11
- Cheney-Spokane Road just south of the retail area to South Qualchan Road will have one lane of traffic with flaggers between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.
- Impacted neighborhoods include Eagle Ridge and Qualchan area.
- Cheney-Spokane Road will then close between the retail area and Qualchan Drive starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.
- Cheney-Spokane Road between the retail area and Qualchan Drive will open back up for one lane of traffic in each direction at 4 p.m.
- Cheney-Spokane Road between Qualchan Drive and South Cedar Road will remain closed.
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Road intersection.
- Saturday, October 12
- Cheney-Spokane Road closure continues just south of the retail area and continues to South Cedar Road. This includes access to Qualchan Drive
- Impacted neighborhoods include Eagle Ridge and Qualchan area. Detours will be in place.
- Cheney-Spokane Road will open between the retail area and Qualchan Dr. at approximately 4 p.m. with one lane in each direction.
- Cheney-Spokane Road will remain closed between Qualchan Drive and South Cedar Road
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Road intersection.
- Cheney-Spokane Road closure continues just south of the retail area and continues to South Cedar Road. This includes access to Qualchan Drive
- Sunday, October 13
- Cheney-Spokane Road will remain open with one lane in each direction between the retail area and Qualchan Drive
- Cheney-Spokane Road will remain closed between Qualchan Drive and South Cedar Road
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Road intersection.
- Monday, October 14
- Cheney-Spokane Road will remain open with one lane in each direction between the retail area and Qualchan Drive
- Cheney-Spokane Road will remain closed between Qualchan Drive and South Cedar Road
- WSDOT will pave Highway 195 near the Meadow Lane Road intersection
- Tuesday, October 15
- Cheney-Spokane Road will have one lane of traffic with flaggers Tuesday morning from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., between the retail area and Qualchan Drive
- Cheney-Spokane Road complete closure begins at 9 a.m. just south of the retail area and continues to South Cedar Road
- Impacted neighborhoods include Eagle Ridge and Qualchan area. This includes access to Qualchan Drive at Cheney-Spokane Road. Detours will be in place.
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Road intersection.
- Wednesday, October 16
- Cheney-Spokane Road complete closure begins at 9 a.m. just south of the retail area and continues to South Cedar Road
- Impacted neighborhoods include Eagle Ridge and Qualchan area. This includes access to Qualchan Drive at Cheney-Spokane Road. Detours will be in place.
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Road intersection.
- Thursday, October 17
- Cheney-Spokane Road will be open between the retail area and Qualchan Drive
- Cheney-Spokane Road remains closed between Qualchan Drive and South Cedar Road
- Friday, October 18
- Cheney-Spokane Road will open between the retail area and South Cedar Road
- Lane and speed reductions will be removed for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Road intersection.
During full closure times, the City of Spokane said alternative routes include West Qualchan Drive to South Meadow Lane Road and Eagle Ridge to I-90.
Cheney-Spokane Road officially reopened as of Friday, October 18.
