SPOKANE, Wash.-- Spokane Hoopfest is partnering with The Basketball Tournament (TBT) to host a four-team tournament as part of this year's TBT West Region.
"They set the gold standard when it comes to celebrating and growing the sport. We are particularly excited to be teaming up with a property that shares our values," said Jon Mugar, founder and CEO of TBT. "Both events were born out of a pure love for the game of basketball."
TBT hosts 72-team brackets of professional basketball featuring college alumni, international basketball stars, ex-NBA players, and future NBA players competing in a single-elimination tournament for a winner-take-all $2 million prize.
The TBT tournament will be hosted on Friday, June 29 and the games will air live on ESPN networks.
In 2017, TBT had more than 68 former NBA players competing with over two-thirds of the 700 players being current professional players.
“The partnership with TBT brings a one-of-a-kind event to Hoopfest 2018 and beyond. We are excited to showcase the intensity of an elimination style tournament with some of the greatest basketball players in world. It’s a great match, Hoopfest will love TBT and TBT will love Hoopfest," said Matt Santangelo, Executive Director of Spokane Hoopfest.
The official Spokane Hoopfest tournament will start on Saturday, June 30 until Sunday, July 1.
Spokane Hoopfest is the largest three-on-three outdoor basketball tournament in the world with over 6,000 teams participating every year.
Tickets for the Spokane Hoopfest TBT Pod will be released at a future date. For more information, contact the Spokane Hoopfest office at (509) 624-2414.
