Know before you go: Spokane Velocity FC first home match

The team's first home match is a few days away. Here's what to know before they kick off.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Professional soccer has arrived in Spokane! 

The Spokane Velocity FC is hosting its first home match at the ONE Spokane Stadium on Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m. against the Richmond Kickers. 

It will be a busy day in downtown Spokane on Saturday with St. Patrick's Day celebrations. There will be road closures from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. 

Here are some things to know before Spokane Velocity FC's first home match:

  • Gates open at 1 p.m. for kickoff at 2 p.m.
  • ONE Spokane Stadium has a clear bag policy
  • Cash is not accepted at the venue. Credit cards and other mobile payments are accepted for concessions.
  • Tickets are digital only.
  • Parking is available in downtown lots.

Pre-match activities include:

  • Honoring of the Spokane Spokes – Spokane’s first-ever soccer team 
  • The Rumble (pre-kick tradition)
  • Team introductions and walkouts 
  • Historic first kick commemorative stadium drone photo (watch for an announcement for when you can pick up FREE one of 500 limited edition branded prints of this photo)

Spokane Velocity FC will also host their 509 Syndicate's March to the Match at the Rotary Fountain in Riverfront Park. The team will start their march an hour before the game at 1 p.m. (it's recommended you arrive 30 minutes before). The march is half a mile and will take about 12-15 minutes.
