SEATTLE — The Seattle Seahawks were dealt a pivotal loss in the playoff picture on Sunday night.
From the opening drive, the Green Bay Packers controlled the game to beat the Seahawks 30-13 at Lumen Field on Sunday Night Football.
Here are three takeaways from the Seahawks' loss.
Life without Geno
The Seahawks offense was stalling and unproductive - then Geno Smith went down with a knee injury in the third quarter to make matters worse.
Smith hobbled to the locker room with a concerned Tyler Lockett joining him. He missed the rest of the game, leaving backup quarterback Sam Howell in charge of the offense.
Howell, who led the National Football League with 21 interceptions in 2023, was off-target and inefficient in Smith's absence. He completed five of 14 passes for 24 yards and one interception, making the porous Seahawks offensive line look even worse.
If Smith's injury sidelines him for any period of time, the Seahawks playoff chances will take a dip.
Offensive line struggles. Again.
Stop me if you've read this before, Seahawks fans.
The offensive line was overwhelmed by the Packers defense, who recorded seven sacks and nine quarterback hits in the lopsided victory.
Under siege and running for their life, Seahawks quarterbacks turned 33 pass attempts into just 128 passing yards.
Ryan Grubb's offense has been able to overcome a struggling offensive line for much of the season, but that was not the case Sunday.
