How to watch the Seattle Seahawks season opener against the Denver Broncos

The game between the Hawks and Broncos kicks off at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8 at Lumen Field in Seattle.

SEATTLE — Seahawks fans, the time has come! The Hawks will be back in action this Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

Sunday’s game will be the first of the season for both of Russel Wilson’s former teams. The Hawks will look to improve on their 9-8 finish last year that saw them miss the playoffs for the second time since 2020.

Sunday’s game will also be the first for new Seahawks Head Coach Mike Macdonald. Macdonald comes to the Pacific Northwest after two seasons as the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.

The Seahawks will wear their 90s throwback uniforms against the Broncos. The uniform combination features the a silver helmet, royal blue and apple green jerseys and silver pants. After Sunday, the Hawks will wear the jersey one more time against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football in Week 6.

Game time, channel and how to watch

Here are the details for those wondering what channel the Broncos-Seahawks game is on.

The game between the Hawks and Broncos kicks off at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8 at Lumen Field in Seattle. You can watch the game over the air in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene region on KREM 2!

Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks

Sunday’s game will be the first between the two teams since the Seahawks beat the Broncos 17-16 on the opening Monday Night Football game in 2022. The game was Russel Wilson’s first game playing as a member of the Denver Broncos.

The Denver Broncos lead the all-time series 35-22.

The Seahawks come into the 2024 season with most of the same players at offensive skill positions from last year. Those players include Geno Smith, DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Jackson Smith-Njigba and Kenneth Walker III. Uchenna Nwosu, Riq Woolen, Jarran Reed, Leonard Williams and Jerome Baker will lead the defense in 2024.

The Broncos are coming into 2024 with a few question marks. Number one is with their quarterback situation. Head coach Sean Payton ran Russel Wilson out of town following the 2023 season and drafted rookie Bo Nix out of Oregon earlier this year. Nix won the job in training camp and will lead the team to start the 2024 season.

The Broncos defense is expected to be just as good as last year’s squad led by Patrick Surtain II, Baron Browning, John Franklin-Myers and Cody Barton.
