Washington State University crop mural not returning

BECU told KREM 2 News they are welcoming the possibility of the return of the mural.

PALOUSE, Wash. — In past college football seasons, you might have seen the unique Washington State BECU Crop Art on your drive to Martin Stadium.

However, it appears that you won't be able to see that mural starting this season.

According to BECU, its partnership with WSU's Crop Art retired this year, and therefore, you won't be able to see the WSU crop mural this year.

According to BECU, they will be investing in other programs.

"Crop Art was launched in 2019 as a way to highlight WSU's debit and credit cards and celebrate our partnership," BECU shared in a statement to KREM 2 News. "In order to ensure we're aligned with BECU's growth strategy and to continue to be mindful stewards of our members' money, we've decided to invest in other programs.  As we don't know what the future holds, we welcome the possibility of returning to this or a similar project if and when it aligns with BECU's priorities."

Natalie Hobbs with BECU also told KREM 2 that they are still supporting partnerships with WSU and are excited about new and expanded initiatives coming soon.
