WSU safety Jaden Hicks declares for the NFL Draft

Hicks led the Cougs in solo tackles and interceptions last season.

PULLMAN, Wash. — After an offseason of uncertainty, WSU redshirt sophomore safety Jaden Hicks announced he is turning pro and entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

Hicks made the announcement on his personal Instagram page Friday morning.

Hicks was a stalwart of the Cougar defense the past two seasons. He played in every game and tallied 155 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 13 passes defended, three interceptions, a forced fumble and two touchdowns.

He was an All-Pac-12 honorable mention this past season when he led the Cougs in solo tackles with 49 and tied for the team lead in interceptions with two.

Hicks joins Cameron Ward as the two Cougs with eligibility remaining who have declared for the draft.

The NFL Draft will take place April 25-27 in Detroit.
