Former WSU small forward Jaylen Wells is staying in the NBA Draft

Wells averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in his one season in Pullman.

PULLMAN, Wash. — Former WSU wing Jaylen Wells has decided to forgo his remaining college eligibility to stay in the NBA Draft.

Wells averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in his one season in Pullman.

Wells began his career at the division two level at Sonoma State University where he averaged 22.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in his final season.

He transferred to WSU ahead of the 2023-2024 season and etched his name in Cougar lore with a clutch four point play against Arizona in Tucson, which helped the Cougs upset the Wildcats and become ranked in the AP poll for the first time in 16 years.

Before finalizing his decision to stay in the Draft, Wells also entered the transfer portal ending his time in Pullman after just one season.

Wells is projected as a late second round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. The Draft will take place on June 27.
