PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State football released its 2024 schedule on Thursday. It is a schedule unlike any WSU has ever seen with the departure of Pac-12 members and the scheduling agreement with the Mountain West Conference.
As part of the agreement with the Mountain West, Washington State and Oregon State each have six games against Mountain West teams that act as "conference" games. However, WSU already had scheduling agreements with San Diego State and San Jose State. Therefore, those matchups aren't included in the six-game scheduling agreement.
The Cougs will have six games at Gesa Field, five road games and a neutral site game at Lumen Field for the Apple Cup.
With Washington joining the Big Ten, the Apple Cup will now take place on September 14th due to the fact it is an out of conference game for the Huskies.
WSU opens the season on August 31st against Portland State at home. The following week WSU will host Texas Tech in Pullman for a non-conference matchup that has been rumored for a few weeks.
Washington State's only true conference game against Oregon State will be on November 23rd in Corvallis. The two remaining members of the Pac-12 Conference are using a two-year grace period before making a decision on a future conference.
