PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University announced Korey Schroeder is taking over as head coach for the Cougs volleyball team.
Schroeder worked as the assistant volleyball coach in his first year at WSU. He helped lead the team to a No. 11 national ranking.
"I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead Washington State Volleyball into the next chapter of the program's storied history," said Schroeder. "In my first year at Washington State, the energy I have felt from the Pullman community, Cougar fans, and the individuals within the Washington State Athletic Department has been phenomenal. They are all reasons why Pullman feels like home, and it is the same reason our student-athletes love their experience at Washington State."
Schroeder first joined the WSU volleyball team staff in spring 2023. He was an associate coach at the University of Wisconsin before he joined the team on the Palouse.
WSU credits Schroeder with the team's success in the past season, having played a part in one of the best years in the WSU volleyball team's history.
He follows in the footsteps of Jen Greeny, who was in charge of the Cougs volleyball team for 13 years and led the team to eight consecutive NCAA tournament appearances.
