PULLMAN, Wash. — WSU forward Isaac Jones has been named the ESPN National Player of the Week following back-to-back 20-point double-doubles in wins over USC and No. 12 Arizona.
Jones was also named the Naismith national player of the week.
Jones had 26 points and 11 rebounds against the Trojans and followed up with a 24-point 13 rebound performance against Arizona Saturday night.
Those performances were also enough to earn Jones his first PAC-12 Player of the Week honor.
For the first time in program history, the Cougs swept the weekly PAC-12 awards as freshman Myles Rice was named the PAC-12 freshman of the week.
Rice had 12 points and five assists against USC and followed that performance with 18 points and five assists against Arizona, including several clutch baskets down the stretch.
It is the third time Rice has taken home the weekly freshman award this season.
This marks just the seventh weekly sweep by a school since the invention of the PAC-12 Freshman of the Week award in 2019.
The Cougs will be back in action Thursday night on the road at Stanford. The tip-off for that game is set for 8:00 PM.
