PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State Cougars are looking to continue their winning ways Saturday night against Utah State.
The Cougs are 7-1 on the season, and through five games against Mountain West opponents, WSU is 4-1. Their only loss of the season was against #25 Boise State.
Saturday’s game is also Military Appreciation Night at Martin Stadium.

Saturday’s game will be the fifth time these two schools have met head-to-head in football. The last time the two teams played each other was in 2021, when WSU came away with a 26-23 victory in Pullman.
Washington State looks to stay in the hunt for the College Football Playoff after starting the season 7-1, with notable wins against Texas Tech and the University of Washington earlier this season.
WSU goes as quarterback John Mateer goes. The Redshirt Sophomore has completed 61% of his passes for 2,153 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. Mateer also leads the Cougs in rushing with 575 yards on 124 carries, adding 10 more rushing touchdowns to total his 28 touchdowns on the year so far.
The Aggies bring a 2-6 record with them to Pullman. Their two wins came against Robert Morris and Wyoming.
