Gonzaga Prep alum Devin Culp drafted in seventh round by Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The UW Husky was the fastest tight end at the NFL combine after running a blazing 4.47 40-yard dash

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga Prep alum and former Washington Husky tight end Devin Culp was drafted 246th overall in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Culp ran a blistering 4.47 40-yard dash at the NFL combine to boost his draft stock.

It's difficult to think at one point, Culp was considering giving up the sport of football to pursue basketball full time.

After a conversation and an agreement with his mother, Pia, Culp stuck with football and went on to win a 4A state championship with Gonzaga Prep in 2015.

Culp later committed to Washington where he would go on to play in a national championship game and earn a draft selection in this year's draft.

Culp is thankful for all of the support he has received from his friends and family here in Spokane, especially his mom Pia and his former teammate, Gonzaga forward Anton Watson.

"I appreciate all of the support from the Spokane community throughout the years, it has been a hell of a ride and go Dawgs," Culp said.
