BOZEMAN, Mont. — Jamie Loera's game winning bucket at the buzzer lifted Eastern Washington over Montana State for a 52-50 win.
The win clinches the Big Sky regular season title for the Eags.
The game was a battle throughout and was tied at 46 with two minutes to play until Loera buried a three pointer to put Eastern up by three.
Montana State would cut the lead to one on a layup and Eastern had four free throws to put the game away, but only made one.
With 16 seconds remaining, Madison Hall hit a layup to tie the game at 50.
EWU head coach Joddie Gleason drew up a final play which kept the ball in her star point guard's hands.
Loera drove left and faded away before tossing the ball up off the glass for a 52-50 buzzer beating victory.
This marks just the second conference title in Eastern Washington program history.
The Eags will have an emotional senior night Monday night in Cheney against Sacramento State before heading to Boise for the Big Sky Tournament.
A win in Boise would send Eastern to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history and the first time since 1987.
