CORVALLIS, Ore. — For the second time in school history, the Eastern Washington women’s basketball is headed to the NCAA Tournament!
The Eags earned a #14 seed and will open on the road against #3 Oregon State (24-7).
The Eastern Washington women punched their ticket to the NCAA tournament after knocking off the top-seeded Northern Arizona University to win the Big Sky Conference Tournament. This is the second time Eastern Washington has made it to the Big Dance. They join the team from 1986-1987 in the EWU history books.
Oregon State finished the season with a 24-7 overall record and were 12-6 in conference. The Beavers made it to the semifinals of the Pac-12 Conference Tournament before losing to top-seeded Stanford.
This will be Oregon State’s 13th trip to the NCAA Tournament. They are 16-12 overall in tournament play.

The #14 Eastern Washington Eagles vs. the #3 Oregon State Beavers NCAA Tournament basketball game will tip off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22. The game will be played at the Gill Coliseum on the campus of Oregon State.
The game will air nationally on ESPNU. The game will also be able to be streamed online via ESPN+.
Eagles vs. Beavers
Friday’s matchup between Eastern Washington and Oregon State will be the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams. Eastern Washington has lost all four previous matchups with the most recent one being in 2022.
The Eastern Washington women’s leading scorer is Aaliyah Alexander who averages nearly 15 points per game. In addition to Alexander, Jamie Loera and Jaleesa Lawrence also average double digits for the Eags.
Oregon State’s leading scorer is Raegan Beers who averages just under 18 points per game. In addition to Beers, Timea Gardiner and Talia von Oelhoffen also average double-digit points for the Beavers.
The Beavers averaged just under 71 points per game while giving up 59 points per game. Eastern Washington averaged 69 points per game while giving up 55 points per game. It will be imperative for Eastern Washington to play stingy defense if they have any hopes off pulling off the upset.
