PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State women's basketball's Bella Murekatete landed herself a WNBA contract only one day after the draft. The star senior signed a training camp contract with the Phoenix Mercury.
This means Murekatete will fight to earn a spot on the Mercury roster during the camp later in the year.
Murekatete played her entire college career at Wazzu. She appeared in all of the 36 games for Wazzu this past season, averaging 11.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game.
Murekatete became the all-time program leader in career rebounds with 990 and blocks with 188. She finished her college career with 1,552 points, becoming fifth all-time in program history.
