LAPWAI, Idaho — Lapwai senior Kase Wynott wrote his name in the Idaho record books on Thursday night, becoming the state's all-time scoring leader.
Wynott surpassed Jared Mercer, who set the scoring record at 2,589 points in 1993. Wynott entered Thursday night needing six points to break Mercer's record. He scored 29 in a 99-47 win over Clearwater Valley.
This comes after Wynott had a record-breaking game against Genesee last week, where he had a triple-double with 68-points to set the state single-game scoring record.
The senior guard is committed to play at Utah State. Wynott led the country in points per game heading into Thursday's matchup with Clearwater Valley averaging 37.4 points a game.
