PORTLAND, Ore. — The Gonzaga women will be back in action on Friday in the Sweet 16 in the women’s NCAA Tournament. After winning the first two rounds at home, the Zags will play the next round in Portland.
Gonzaga advanced to the Sweet 16 after winning against UC Irvine and the University of Utah.
Texas advanced to the Sweet 16 after victories over Drexel and Alabama.

The #4 Gonzaga Bulldogs vs the #1 Texas Longhorns NCAA Tournament basketball game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29. The game will be played at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
The game will air nationally on ESPN.

Friday’s matchup between Gonzaga and Texas will be the first between the two teams.
The Gonzaga women’s leading scorer is Yvonne Ejim, who averages 20 points per game. In addition to Ejim, Brynna Maxwell, Kaylynne Truong, Kayleigh Truong and Eliza Hollingsworth all average double-digit points per game.
The leading scorer for Texas is Madison Booker, who averages just under 17 points per game. In addition to Booker, Rori Harmon, Taylor Jones and Aaliyah Moore all average double digits in points. Booker comes into the tournament fresh off winning the Big-12 Player of the Year award as a freshman. Booker was also named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and was unanimously selected for the All-Big 12 First Team.
The Longhorns average just under 81 points per game while only giving up 57 points per game. Meanwhile, Gonzaga scores 81 points per game while giving up 60 points per game.
