State B basketball tournament comes to Spokane

The high school basketball's state tournament, also known as State B, is underway across Washington.
Liberty pulls out a 56-51 win. Lancers move on to the 2B semis.

WASHINGTON -- The boys and girls high school basketball's state tournament, also known as State B, is underway across Washington Thursday.

One of the sites that games are being held at is the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Many small schools, 1B/2B, from all parts of the state will play their basketball games there.

The 3A/4A state tournament is being played in Tacoma at the Tacoma Dome. The 1A/2A games will be played in Yakima.

The event attracts more than 2,500 visitors from across the state and generates an estimated $1-million in lodging, dining and shopping when they are in Spokane.
