Local legends Lexie and Lacie Hull returned to Central Valley high school Friday night for their induction into the Central Valley Athletics Hall of Fame.
The twins grew up playing basketball with and against each other, and their on-court chemistry and skill helped the Bears to two state championships, one in 2016 and one in 2018. Those teams were both inducted as a group to the Hall of Fame. The Hull sisters were each inducted into the Hall of Fame individually as well.
They took in the game with family, friends and former teammates, and picked up right where they left off in 2018.
"It's surreal," Lacie said. "The relationships haven't changed, it's amazing to be put back in a room again and remember all of those memories that we had together."
Also there at the ceremony, inducted with the teams, was former head coach Freddie Rehkow.
"This is the first time since 2018 that the whole team has been together," Rehkow said. "Absolutely amazing night, and to see them as adults and doing well, that's quite the accomplishment off the court, but we got to recognize and celebrate what they did on the court as well."
"He was an amazing coach," Lexie Hull said. "We learned a lot from him and his leadership on and off the court, so I think we knew what it took to be a good player and a good teammate, and how to work hard."
After their careers at Central Valley, the twins both went to Stanford, where they helped the team to a NCAA National Championship. While Lacie chose not to pursue a professional basketball career, Lexie was drafted sixth overall in the 2022 WNBA draft and had a breakout year for the Indiana Fever.
