Gonzaga Prep's Devin Culp and Coeur d'Alene's Colson Yankoff play on different teams for now, but it will not last long.
KREM2 sports has confirmed that the pair of local athletes have verbally committed to Oregon, Saturday afternoon.
Yankoff split time this year with quarterback Austin Lee, but still recorded 825 yards through the air on 63 completions. He also accounted for a total of 12 touchdowns, five of which were on the ground. He is widely regarded as a four-star prospect.
As for Culp, the Gonzaga Prep wide receiver is also a star basketball player for the Bullpups, but with a 6-5 frame at 205 pounds, he is a juicy get for Oregon's high-octane offensive system. Culp caught 18 catches for 454 yards as a sophomore along with three touchdowns. His big performance came in the state title game rushing for two scores to help the Bullpups win a 4A championship.
Both local athletes will head to Eugene together (Class of 2018) and join a program that has not seen a losing season in 11 years.
