Gonzaga ranked 11 in the 2023 AP preseason poll

The Bulldogs are the highest ranked team from the West Coast Conference.

SPOKANE, Wash. — We are less than a month out from the tipoff of the 2023-2024 Gonzaga men’s basketball season! On Monday, the preseason AP poll was released and had the Zags ranked at number 11.

The Bulldogs are the highest ranked team from the West Coast Conference. St. Mary’s came in at number 23 in the AP rankings.

According to the university, this marks the 23rd straight season GU has been ranked in the AP poll. It's the 14th consecutive year the Zags have appeared in the preseason poll, starting in the top-20 for the 11th straight season.

The team this year will look much different than the squad who made it to the Elite 8 in the 2023 March Madness tournament. They will have to replace not only Senior Drew Timme who now plays for the Milwaukee Bucks, but also Julian Strawther who was drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets.
