Gonzaga vs. Portland: How to watch Wednesday’s college basketball game

The Portland-Gonzaga game will tip off inside the Kennel on Wednesday, February 7 at 5 p.m.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga men’s basketball team will look to right the ship on Wednesday after a heart-breaking loss to Saint Mary’s over the weekend. The Zags will host the Portland Pilots in a WCC matchup.

The Zags have won seven of their last nine games, but their two losses have been to conference opponents. The team is 16-6 on the season with a 7-2 record in conference. They are two games behind Saint Mary’s for the lead in the West Coast Conference.

With Saturday’s loss it is all but certain that the Zags will have to win the WCC tournament to get a berth in the NCAA tournament. In the most recent ESPN bracketology, the Gonzaga Bulldogs are in the first four out category. However, that bracketology was posted before the loss to Saint Mary’s. It is expected to be updated again on February 6.

Pilots vs. Bulldogs

After dropping a heart-breaking, albeit controversial game this weekend to Saint Mary’s, Gonzaga needs to get back into the win column. They hope to do so against a Portland team who is middle of the road in the West Coast Conference.

The Portland Pilots head into Spokane with a 9-15 record and 3-6 in conference. The Pilots are currently in sixth place in the WCC standings.

Portland is currently riding a two-game win streak, with their most recent win coming against Pepperdine on Saturday.

The Pilots leading scorer is Tyler Robertson who averages 16.5 points per game. Robertson also leads Portland in assists per game with 3.8 and steals per game with 1.

Last season the Zags beat Portland both times they played with an average margin of victory of nearly 28 points.
