SPOKANE, Wash. — Virginia transfer guard Jalen Warley has committed to Gonzaga. The 6'7" Warley averaged 7.5 points per game last season at Florida State before transferring to Virginia.
After Tony Bennett announced his retirement right before the season, Warley re-entered the transfer portal and will redshirt this season before joining the Zags in 2025-2026.
Warley spent three seasons in Tallahassee before transferring to Virginia in the offseason.
He was originally a four-star recruit out of Norristown, Pennsylvania. He scored a career-high 23 points on two separate occasions at Florida State.
Warley figures to join a Gonzaga backcourt next season led by Colgate transfer Braden Smith, who is also redshirting this season.
The Zags continue to build up next year's roster which will also include guards Dusty Stromer, Emmanuel Innocenti and hopefully, a healthy Steele Venters.
Warley has drawn play-style comparisons to Minnesota Timberwolves guard P.J. Dozier, who the Zags faced in the 2017 Final Four at South Carolina.
The 2025-2026 season will be Warley's final season of collegiate eligibility.
