SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The Zags are playing in The Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament after their win against nine-seed Baylor in Salt Lake City.
This is the Zags' fifth straight season making it this far in the tournament.
A key player in Sunday's game against Baylor: senior forward Brandon Clarke. He had five blocks and 36 points - that has only ever been done by two other people, including Shaquille O'Neal. He also shot 15-of-18 from the floor.
Another VIP in the game was sophomore forward Corey Kispert. Mark Few said during a press conference Saturday that Kispert was the Most Valuable Zag against the Baylor Bears.
"Corey Kispert was out player of the game, which is - the things we asked him to do, rebounding-wise, in defense and then to step up to make those big shots was huge," Few said.
The Zags face familiar opponent four-seed Florida State, who defeated the the team in last season's Sweet 16.
The two teams face off in Anaheim, California on Thursday at 4:09 p.m. Fans can catch the game on KREM 2.
