Gonzaga vs. Loyola Marymount: How to watch Thursday’s college basketball game

The Zags are taking on Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles coming off a big win in Lexington, Ky.

SPOKANE, Wash. — After their big win against the Kentucky Wildcats, the Gonzaga men’s basketball team will look to keep their winning streak alive against Loyola Marymount (LMU).

Gonzaga has a 18-6 record overall and are 8-2 in conference. The Bulldogs are sitting at third place in the West Coast Conference (WCC). 

Loyola Marymount has a 10-14 record overall and are 3-7 in conference. The Lions are sitting in sixth place in the WCC.

Game time, channel and how to watch

Here are the details for those wondering what channel the Loyola Marymount-Gonzaga game is on.

The Loyola-Gonzaga game will tip off inside the Gersten Pavilion on Thursday, January 15 at 6 p.m. The game can be watched nationally on the CBS Sports Network. 

Lions vs. Bulldogs

The Lions will host the Zags in Los Angeles, Calif. The last time the GU went to southern California, the Zags beat LMU 108-65. This was after the notorious loss (68-67) against the Lions in the McCarthey Athletic Center that ended the at-home winning streak of 75 games. 

Coming into the 2023-24 season, the Bulldogs had something to prove when meeting the Loyola team back in the Kennel. The Jan. 30 game ended in a Zag win 92-58. 

Gonzaga is looking to keep their chances in the NCAA March Madness tournament alive. In WCC play the Zags have wins over Portland, Pacific, San Francisco, San Diego and Pepperdine while losing games to Saint Mary’s and Santa Clara. 

The Bulldogs recently took the court in Lexington, Kentucky where they beat Kentucky 89-85. Graham Ike led all scorers with 23. Anton Watson dropped 17 points and Nolan Hickman added another 17 points. Redshirt Freshman and WCC Freshman of the Week, Braden Huff also had a stand-out game with 12 points. 

The Lions are looking to bounce back after four straight losses. In WCC play, the Lions have wins over Portland, Pepperdine and Pacific while dropping games against Saint Mary’s, San Francisco, San Diego and Santa Clara.

Loyola’s scoring leader is former Zag, Dominick Harris, who is averaging 14 points per game. This will be Harris' second time facing off against the Bulldogs since transferring out of Gonzaga.

The Lions are another deep team with seven players logging more than 20 minutes per game. Loyola averages 73 points per game.

In other WCC play, San Francisco will take on Saint Mary’s on Tuesday and Santa Clara will duel it out with Pacific on Thursday.
