SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga's Brynna Maxwell and Kaylynne Truong were both taken in the 2024 WNBA Draft on Monday night.
Maxwell was taken well above projections with the first pick of the second round, 13th overall, by the Chicago Sky. This comes after Maxwell knocked down a program record 95 three's this past season.
Maxwell played two years at GU and received All-WCC First Team honors both years. She finished her career with 1,979 points and 377 three-pointers while shooting at 42.7% from beyond the arc.
Kaylynne Truong was taken eight picks later with the 21st overall pick by the Washington Mystics. Truong spent five years at Gonzaga and earned the 2023 WCC Player of the Year.. She was a two time All-WCC first teamer and is second in program history with 623 assists.
Maxwell and Truong become the 7th and 8th Gonzaga players ever taken in the WNBA Draft.
