SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga women's basketball team started its season with a bang, defeating the College of Idaho in an exhibition matchup 79-39.
In the first half, the Zags shot 48.%% from the field and 57.7% from behind the three-point arc, outscoring the College of Idaho 20-8 in the second quarter.
The Zags held the College of Idaho to only six points in the fourth quarter. The Zags finished the game with a shooting percentage of 50% from the field, holding the Yotes to a shooting percentage of 28.1% from the field. The Zags also out-rebounded the Yotes 54-22.
Three Zags scorers had at least 10 points in the game.
Gonzaga returns to action Election Night as the Zags play its regular season opener at home against Montana. Tipoff on Tuesday, November 5, from the McCarthey Athletic Center is set for 6 p.m.
