Gonzaga Bulldogs continue to climb, women's basketball team ranks No. 16 in AP top 25

The Zags jumped one spot from last week after their WCC regular season title clinching win Saturday against Pacific.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga women’s basketball team continues to climb in the AP top 25 poll.

This week the Zags rank No. 16, jumping one spot from last week. This is the highest the Bulldogs have been ranked this season.

According to the Gonzaga women’s record book, the highest they were ranked was No. 11 in the 2019-20 season. That roster featured 2019-20 West Coast Conference player of the year Jill Townsend and freshman guards Kayleigh and Kaylynne Truong.

According to the record book, the longest winning streak for the Zags is 23 games, a record set back in 2004-05. That roster featured senior forward Ashley Burke and senior guard Shannon Mathews. The Zags are currently on a 20-game winning streak with three regular season games left ahead of the WCC tournament.
