SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga women defeated Eastern Washington 84-44 Friday night in The Kennel to advance to 3-1 on the season.
Katie Campbell led the Zags 13 points, going 5-of-8 from the field. Kayleigh Truong was right behind with 12 and Melody Kempton added 11.
Jill Townsend, Jessie Loera, and Kaylynne Truong all had nine points in the game.
Eastern's Melody Kirscher led all scorers with 15 points.
Gonzaga shot 51.7% from the field and 43.8% from three. Eastern shot 32% in the contest. The Bulldogs also had 38 points off the bench and 21 points off turnovers, compared to Eastern Washington's three.
The Bulldogs opened up the game on a 16-4 run and didn't look back after that.
Gonzaga now heads to the Gulf Coast Showcase that begins on November 29th. They'll take on University of Dayton at 10:30 AM in the first round.
Eastern will face Pepperdine at home on December 1st at 1 PM.
