SPOKANE, Wash. — Former Gonzaga guard Nigel Williams-Goss is going from playing professional basketball overseas to the NBA.
According to Eurohoops.net, he's going to sign a three year deal with the Utah Jazz. The team still had his rights.
Williams-Goss was taken in the 2017 NBA Draft in the second round with the 55th pick overall by the Jazz. After playing Summer League that year, he went to play overseas for past two seasons.
The very best case scenario is he could be the backup point guard behind Mike Conley. Rookie Justin Wright-Foreman and Dante Exum are other point guards listed on the depth chart.
Emmanuel Mudiay is listed as a backup shooting guard on some depth charts but has primarily played point guard in his career.
Williams-Goss could find himself with playing time because of his ability to play point guard and shooting guard.
