List of Inland Northwest basketball stars playing in NBA Summer League

Former Zag Killian Tillie signs with Boston Celtics bringing number to 10.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Inland Northwest will be well represented this summer at the NBA 2K25 Summer League. There are now 10 local players who have been named on Summer League rosters.

The first two local athletes who have already been in action this summer are former Zag great Drew Timme and former WSU Cougar Isaac Jones.

Both are playing for the Sacramento Kings in the California Classic. Timme has 16 points and 17 rebounds in two games, while Jones has 17 points and 12 rebounds in two games.

Timme will play his final game for the Kings on Tuesday night before joining the Toronto Raptors for the Summer League slate in Las Vegas.

Jones signed a two-way contract as an undrafted free agent with Sacramento following the NBA Draft.

The 39th overall pick in this year's draft, former Coug Jaylen Wells, will be in action for the first time tonight for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Wells will soon be joined by former Zag Malachi Smith, who announced on Instagram today that he has signed with the Grizzlies for the Summer League.

There is also a trio of second-year NBA players who will vie for more playing time in the Summer League. Former Zag Julian Strawther and former Coug Mouhamed Gueye hope to earn a larger role for the Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks, respectively.

Former Coug Justin Powell is on the Philadelphia 76ers Summer League roster and hopes to receive some game time after spending last season in the NBA G League.

The 54th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, former Zag Anton Watson will headline the Boston Celtics Summer League roster alongside former Zag Killian Tillie, who signed with the Celtics today after a two-year hiatus from the NBA.

Finally, former Coug Robert Franks will give it another shot at the NBA after signing with the Phoenix Suns for the Summer League. Franks has played overseas for the last three seasons.

This is a preliminary list and more local athletes may also receive opportunities as the summer continues.
