SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Indians have announced their 2024 player roster. The squad features last year's top Colorado Rockies draft picks: pitchers Chase Dollander and Sean Sullivan and INF/OF Cole Carrigg.
Dollander is a flamethrowing right-handed pitcher from Evans, Georgia. The Tennessee product was selected ninth overall in the 2023 MLB Draft after a strong collegiate career. Dollander is the number two prospect in the Rockies' farm system and the number 49 prospect in all of Major League Baseball entering the season.
Sullivan is a left-handed pitcher who is the 14th ranked prospect in the Rockies' system. Sullivan was spectacular in his one season at Wake Forest where he struck out 111 hitters in just 69 and two-thirds innings pitched and pitched to a measly 2.45 ERA.
Carrigg is a utility player with a unique skillset. He batted .333 and was named all-Mountain West Conference twice in his career at San Diego State. He was drafted in the second round of the 2023 Draft by the Rockies. Carrigg is the number eight prospect in the Rockies' farm system.
The Indians roster also features 2023 fifth round pick, third baseman Kyle Karros. Karros is the 28th ranked prospect in the Rockies' system.
The other top 10 Rockies prospect in Spokane this season will be shortstop Dyan Jorge. The 21-year-old Cuban hit .283 in low-A Fresno last season.
This year's team also features 16 returning players from the last couple of years, including pitcher Tyler Ahearn and outfielder Braiden Ward, who will be embarking on year three in Spokane.
Robinson Cancel returns to Spokane for his second season as the Indians' manager.
The Indians will hold Fanfest on Wednesday night at Avista Stadium from 5:30-7:30 p.m., which will be the first chance for the public to meet this year's team.
Spokane will open the 2024 season at home Friday night against the Vancouver Canadians. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
