Braiden Ward promoted to Double-A Hartford

Ward is hitting .340 with two home runs and 17 RBIs to go along with 18 stolen bases this season.

SPOKANE, Wash. — After parts of three seasons in Spokane, Indians infielder/outfielder Braiden Ward has finally received the call to Double-A Hartford.

The Rockies announced the move today as the red hot Ward joined his new teammates in Hartford ahead of tonight's game against the Portland Sea Dogs.

Ward was off to a spectacular start to his 2024 season as he hit .340 with two home runs and 17 runs batted in to go along with 18 stolen bases.

In a game earlier this month against Eugene, Ward stole six bases, including a straight steal of home plate, hit two doubles, drove in two and scored three runs.

The speedy Ward was promoted to Double-A following the news that Benny Montgomery had season ending shoulder surgery and Zac Veen was placed on the seven day injured list.

The Indians begin an important six game road trip in Eugene tonight.
