SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Tribe announced Friday they do not plan to reopen their seasonal Two Rivers Casino in the Lake Roosevelt area.

“For many summers, the Spokane Tribe’s Two Rivers Casino has greeted loyal guests at the confluence of the Spokane and Columbia Rivers,” spokesperson Jamie Sijohn wrote in a release. “In that time, the Tribe has seen its customers’ recreation needs evolve. Now it’s time for the Two Rivers property to evolve as well.”

The tribe plans to transition the area from a casino-focused experience to a resort facility called Two Rivers Resort.

Sijohn said many of their typical recreation offerings will still be available this summer, like the RV and tent camping, and the Two Rivers Marina will stay open.

“Other amenities include a SPOKO Fuel station, rental cabins complete with private decks, houseboat rentals, a beautiful park perfect for picnics, and a rental pavilion for special events and gatherings,” Sijohn wrote.

They will also do their annual fireworks show over Lake Roosevelt on July 7 at dusk.

Sijohn said they expect to announce a plan for the casino portion of the property soon.
