Spokane man ignores protection order, fights victim

A Spokane man was booked into jail in Coos County, Oregon after an altercation.

COOS COUNTY, Oregon -- A Spokane man was booked into jail in Coos County, Oregon after an altercation.

The sheriff's office and Oregon State Police there were called to the Wagon Wheel Grocery store in Hauser after Trace Cassel, 25, said he was threatened with a gun.

When officers arrived, they located Cassel and Jordon Jones, 18, both of Spokane. Authorities said the two got into a fight where Jones had been injured.

During their investigation, authorities determined Cassel lied during a 911 call about being menaced with a gun by Jones. They arrested him on an assault charge and Initiating a False Report.

Cassel was transported to the Coos County Jail to be booked. While at the jail, officers learned Cassel had a protection order from Washington State to keep him from contacting Jones. An additional charge of Contempt of Court was added to Cassel's charges.

Medics treated Jones and he was released. No word what sparked the fight.
