SPOKANE- A Spokane man is taking his latest invention from his basement to the national retail market.
Leon Frechette created Spud Spikes. It is a cooking device that helps cook baked potatoes.
Frechette said his wife gave him the idea for the product over nine years ago. He said he has been working on the development and manufacturing of it ever since. Just within the last year, Frechette said he has been creating all the packaging to go with the kitchen tool.
He currently fills internet orders for Spud Spikes out of his basement. But he hopes the product will be on retail store shelves by the end of March.
Spud Spikes will be showcased at a national convention for retail stores. From there, department stores can pick up the product.
