SPOKANE, Wash. — The morning of Dec. 23, graveyard patrol officers from the Spokane Police Department used freshly fallen snow to their advantage by following footprints in the powder during a foot pursuit.
Officers were patrolling a high crime sport where stolen vehicles had recently been dumped, officers reported.
Officers then stopped a suspicious vehicle with switched plates.
They noticed a man walk away from the area where they stopped the car, the police department reported.
The officers followed the footprints the man had left which led to a short foot pursuit.
Officers reported that they arrested the nine time convicted felon who had dumped a sawed off shotgun during the chase.
No one was harmed during the pursuit.
