SANDPOINT, Idaho --- Sandpoint had the worst air quality in the country for several hours on Labor Day.
The air quality rating there was at 418 around 5 p.m., which is in the “Hazardous” range. It is the worst air quality in the nation. You should not go outside if you live in that area.
Throughout the day, the air quality has shifted in Sandpoint, but it has stayed in the “Hazardous” range for most of the day.
It almost reached a “Very Unhealthy” range around 5:45 p.m. but with the wind blowing it did not stay there for long.
At 6:30 p.m. Monday evening the air quality went back to almost a 400 rating. There is no place with worse air in the USA right now.
